San Francisco’s Eastern Neighborhoods are recognized by the Bay Area Air Quality Management District as having the most significant AQ challenges, disproportionately affecting communities of color and low-income households. Specific sources include major highways, diesel exhaust, and local street pollution, construction dust, and stationary source pollutants (from industrial emissions).
